The Adrian Center for the Arts (ACA) is offering a metal sculpture class at three different times this fall.
ACA Resident Metal Sculptor Jim Bundshuh will teach two, four-session courses in October and November. The classes are the same, offered at two different times: Wednesdays October 2-23 from 6 – 9 p.m. and Mondays Nov. 4- 25 from 1 – 4 p.m. Register online here
His class will give students the opportunity to learn the metal medium and make some unique sculptures. Students will learn the basics of cutting steel with a torch, grinding rough edges and then use a wire welder to join steel pieces together. Throughout the four weeks students can make one or more sculptures and build upon each experience. The sculptures will be finished using a variety of techniques.
Bundshuh studied sculpture at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, and works in steel, wood, concrete, ceramics and found materials. His work has been exhibited at Detroit area galleries and Art-a-Licious in Adrian.
