Register online for this class aimed at teens interested in art
There is still time to register for teen-targeted Visual Arts Camp at the Adrian Center for the Arts.
The camp caters to 13-17 year old students who are interested in advancing their artistic ideas and skill. The camp runs afternoons from June 24 – 28, with the exception of the first day which features a trip to the Frederick Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids and will begin at 8 a.m.
The camp is partially funded through the Lenawee Youth Council and the Kappa Kappa Epsilon Sorority.
Students will convene at the ACA from noon to 4 p.m., June 25-28th . Each day will present a new skill or technique that will help students hone their own ideas about and choose a final project. ACA resident artists and their studios will be available if one on one consultation for students’ works is needed. Final projects will be exhibited after the week-long session at an Adrian location to be determined.
This camp will be directed by Julia Tomaro and include two of the ACA’s newest teachers Amber Mades, who has successfully taught middle school for 10 years in Oakland County and Lora Forgiel, who is a wonderfully talented teacher in the Clinton School District of Lenawee County.
“We pride our program in providing lessons that go beyond the scope of normal classroom art activities, specializing in utilizing tools and materials of our artist studios at the Adrian Center for the Arts Campus,” said camp Director Julia Tomaro.
