Workshops and Classes
From introduction to intermediate and beyond, we offer workshops and classes in various printmaking methods, including letterpress, linoleum block printing and for special projects. For information on our classes please visit the Classes page.

Private Instruction
If you need instruction or just some hands-on press help for your print project, individuals or up to three people at a time can arrange for one-on-one private sessions. Private instruction must be booked in blocks of a minimum of two hours. Private instruction prices: 1 person: $45 per hour; 2 people: $75 per hour;
3 people: $100 per hour. Private instruction can be booked for any time during studio hours, 11-5 Monday through Saturday. Sessions outside these hours can be arranged (may have additional fee). 

Studio Time Rental
If you’re an experienced printmaker or someone who has taken a class with us or had private instruction sessions to be proficient, we can offer you affordable, exclusive printing time on any of our presses for your custom work and special print projects. Press rental sessions must be booked in blocks of a minimum of two hours, and setup and cleanup should be taken into account when booking your time. Studio rental can be booked to use a Vandercook No. 4, a Chandler & Price 10x15, a Vandercook No 1 and a 00, and two 8x10 table platens. We have an extensive collection of metal and vintage wood type.
Studio rental prices: $35 per hour

For special projects, rates can be converted to “by the job” pricing. Please note that we cannot offer press rental during hours when a group class is running.

Open Studio: $50 for three hours
Open Studio is a opportunity for experienced printers or anyone who has taken a class with Studio 44 Letterpress to take advantage of the studio for working on individual projects. Instructor will be on hand for advice and troubleshooting, and you’ll have the company of other printers to bounce ideas off or get inspired by! You must register for Open Studio in advance to discuss your what you will be working on; so materials can be ready. Space is limited depending on what participants are working on and how many register for any given session.

Letterpress/Print Residency
