Printing on Fabric

Printing on Fabric

Building location for class: #44

Date of class: Two day workshop

SATURDAY, September 23

and SUNDAY, September 24 [10-2 PM]

Time of class: 10AM–2 PM for both days

In this class, students will create unique prints on fabric using linoleum cuts, moveable type, rollers, and letterpress cuts. Overcome the challenges of printing on fabric versus paper, and experiment with printing both by hand and using letterpress, yielding a beautifully printed piece of fabric to enjoy as is, or to use in your projects. Good for tea towels, handkerchiefs, samplers, quilt blocks, flags, bibs, scarves, totes, just as is or any sewing project. Materials are included, but students may want to bring their own fabric. (Discuss this with instructor prior to the start of class)

This class uses oil/rubber based inks. Instructor: Phil Driscoll, Kristine Willimann
