Sundays (2 sessions)
September 29 and October 20, 2:00-4:30pm
Instructor: Laura VanCamp
Location: Clay Studio bldg 47
Make your own pumpkin to light the Halloween nite! On the first day students will learn slab construction. On the second day, experience Raku, the ancient technique that originated with the Samurai and the tea ceremony. You select and apply one of ACA’s signature crackle, iridescent or copper penny glazes and right before your eyes and using an outdoor kiln, you will witness transformation! In less than an hour you will handle the fired, finished Jack-O-Lantern. There are few techniques in this fun process! No prior experience with clay necessary.
